CHICAGO, IL–(Marketwired – Jul 20, 2015) – Uproar PR, along with We Are Wearables and 1871, announces the fourth edition of We Are Wearables Chicago: Fido Gets Connected. The evening will focus on how the Internet of Things is connecting our pets and shaping the future of pet care.
The event will feature WonderWoof, a connected bowtie wearable for dogs that lets owners keep track of their dog’s social activity and health through the companion smartphone app. Betsy Fore, CEO and founder of WonderWoof’s parent company, Wondermento, will lead the evening with a presentation and Q&A. Following the presentation, We Are Wearables founder Tom Emrich will moderate a panel discussion on “The future of pet care with wearables and IoT,” featuring Fore, Lina Pakrosnyte, CEO and founder of Urban Leash, Doug Simon, Founder of Walk the Dog and Pet Check Technology and Kevin Ludden, Creative Director & Business Development, FIGO.
Attendees will also have a chance to experience the demo area for a firsthand look at the products highlighted at the event, and chat one-on-one with the creators.
“The Uproar PR team is excited for this month’s We Are Wearables Chicago meetup,” said Tory Patrick, VP at Uproar PR and co-organizer of the event. “The particular subject matter of this event couldn’t have come at a better time, as Uproar recently expanded its client base with the addition of two clients in the pet tech space, WoofTrax and PawsLikeMe.”
WoofTrax‘s free smartphone app, “Walk for a Dog,” harnesses the energy of millions of people who walk their dogs every day to create a social good — raising money for animal shelters and rescues across the country. PawsLikeMe, a free platform, connects pet owners looking to rehome their animals with potential adopters, using a proven algorithm with over 90 percent accuracy.
Uproar’s successful and proven experience working with consumer apps and online platforms, as well as its involvement with industry events like We Are Wearables Chicago, makes the agency an ideal partner to help these companies grow. Through targeted media relations campaigns, the Uproar team will use its established relationships with tech, mobile and consumer media influencers to garner awareness and establish WoofTrax and PawsLikeMe as leaders in the pet technology community.
