A. Duie Pyle came to Uproar PR looking to grow its footprint in the transportation sector, gaining share of voice and building a presence on digital media channels.

Uproar PR conducted comprehensive research to build a knowledge base about the industry, identifying relevant news topics, getting engrained in the trade media, finding award and speaking opportunities, establishing social media accounts and creating content. The Uproar team regularly works alongside the Pyle team to identify which areas of the business it would like to focus on, plan any upcoming events and put together a strategy that caters to those needs. Additionally, by keeping a pulse on industry happenings, the team can pivot and newsjack anything that is more topical. These efforts are carried out across media relations, thought leadership and digital marketing services.

Results

Over the 10 years of working together, A. Duie Pyle has grown into a leading source for supply chain solutions. Changes within the industry have allowed the company to strategically position itself for growth, adding a few new facilities and service offerings. Transport Dive covered that Pyle had plans to expand to Pittsfield, Maine, a location in Maryland and as well as retake operations of one of its leased buildings in NYC, a few other outlets took note and either wrote their own stories or re-shared the news with their audiences. This one story during the year led to further media coverage within The Wall Street Journal’s daily Logistics Report newsletter (31M UVPM), Land Line Magazine (248K UVPM) and an additional interview with Land Line Podcast, which airs on Sirius XM Radio. Additionally, in 2023 Pyle opened a new warehouse in Pennsylvania. The announcement and media coordination netted 14 print articles and two radio news placements.

Over the last couple of years, Pyle reworked one of its service offerings and “relaunched” the brokerage division to extend new solutions to customers. Uproar’s strategy positioned Pyle to showcase how expertise in LTL can help supply chain companies grow a successful brokerage division. This resulted in a byline opportunity with Food Logistics (14K UVPM), hitting on the brokerage divisions key messages. Uproar also coordinated a podcast opportunity with FreightWaves: Check Call for the head of the division to speak about Pyle’s brokerage service.

The company also welcomes reporters to visit facilities firsthand to witness what supply chain solutions look like on a day-to-day basis. In 2023, Colin Campbell, a reporter with Transport Dive (13.9K UVPM), and John Kingston, a reporter with FreightWaves (861K UVPM), visited facilities on separate occasions. They had the opportunity to meet with company leadership, talk with Pyle People who ensure operations run smoothly and see what a typical day looks like. These visits resulted in two articles with Transport Dive and two articles with FreightWaves, both of which were also picked up by Yahoo Finance (43.7M UVPM).

Digital media efforts focus on amplifying key award wins and media coverages, highlighting services, and spotlighting company culture through a fusion of organic social media storytelling and strategic paid digital advertising. Pyle’s company culture is at the forefront of digital campaigns. From shining the spotlight on talented employees to encouraging user generated content, digital initiatives reflect Pyle’s unique values and brand voice. Through strategically positioned creative content and tailored advertising, Uproar’s efforts led to nearly 5,000 new followers across the company’s social media accounts in 2023.
