At Uproar PR, we encourage our employees to get involved and support their local communities by giving each team member eight paid hours to volunteer with whatever organization they choose. We have seen people volunteer with organizations like St. Jude, Love for Our Elders, Letters Against Isolation, and Vitalant since offering this benefit. Once team members give back, they share their experiences and encourage others to do the same.
This Giving Tuesday, we’re spotlighting the incredible ways our staff have given back over the past year!
“For the last two years, I’ve volunteered remotely with Love For Our Elders. The organization identifies ten to twenty seniors monthly who are experiencing loneliness in their lives. There is an epidemic of loneliness and isolation among older adults that has been going on for decades, and it’s something we all got a taste of during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to Uproar’s Volunteer Day benefit, I’m able to take the time to sit down and write unique letters for about 30 seniors each year – hopefully brightening each of their days one letter at a time.” – Elsa Anschuetz, Account Manager
“In September 2023, the American Red Cross declared a national blood shortage citing a critically low blood supply level. Knowing the outcome blood donations can have on saving the lives of individuals in critical and timely situations, I felt drawn to be part of this solution. Being able to take time out of my day to make a difference is extremely rewarding, and I look forward to continuing to use my Uproar volunteer hours to further help those in need of blood transfusions.” – Brittany Zoet, Account Director
“Over the last year and a half, I’ve used my volunteer days to write letters for the elderly through different organizations, including Letters of Hope and Letters Against Isolation. I lost my grandfather when I was very young and always made it a point to keep my grandmother an active part of my life. I was so lucky to have such a special relationship with her, unlike so many who are alone after losing their partner in life.
