Chicago Public Relations Office Hosts College Visits for Future PR Professionals

Uproar PR is committed to educating and enriching young professionals that are interested in pursuing jobs in public relations and social media. At both of our offices in Orlando and Chicago, we invite students for agency visits. Most recently, our Chicago public relations office hosted PRSSA chapters from both Northern Illinois University and Columbia.

During college visits, our team presents Uproar’s client service offerings and case studies of recent work, like Serendipity Brands and BigFish Spirits. This gives them a glimpse into what working for a mid-sized public relations firm looks like, while also giving students the opportunity to ask questions and network.

“I remember when I was in college and not sure what working at a public relations agency was really like,” said Morgan Ganz, Account Coordinator at Uproar PR. “I never had the opportunity to speak with industry professionals, so now I’m eager to answer questions from visiting students because I understand the value it provides as you’re considering a career path.”

College visits are also an opportunity for students to learn about internship opportunities offered at Uproar. Each semester the agency offers internship positions in its Orlando and Chicago offices to college students interested in gaining experience and training in public relations and social media. Some of the skills that interns learn include drafting press releases and media pitches, as well as learning to build media lists, compile research and assist with client projects.

“I really valued my internship at Uproar PR,” said Jenny Cummings, a former intern and current Account Coordinator. “Having the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of agency life and advance my skills really prepared me for my first full time position after graduating.”

College visits are a great chance to help students learn more about what it’s actually like to work at a public relations and digital agency. If you are interested in organizing a college visit to Uproar’s offices or learning more about our internship opportunities click here.
