PRFECT Insights with Jason Siegel, President & CEO at Greater Orlando Sports Commission

Jason Siegel, President & CEO at Greater Orlando Sports Commission (GO Sports), recently spoke with Uproar PR Founder & CMO Mike Harris about his journey working at sports organizations nationwide and the lasting relationships he has made along the way – all of which led him to Orlando.

Siegal has established Orlando as a sports city over the last eight years with GO Sports. Under his leadership, the city has hosted WrestleMania three times, Monster Jam World Finals twice, the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship 1st/2nd Rounds three times, the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games, the 2024 US Olympic Team Marathon Trials, the 2024 NFL Pro Bowl, among others. The success of these national and international events led to Sports Business Journal naming Orlando as the No. 1 Best Sports Business City for Attracting Events.

Now, Orlando has its eye on hosting the men’s and women’s Rugby World Cup in 2031 and 2033, as well as hosting trials for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

Uproar PR has helped spotlight GO Sports’ events and achievements on a national stage, furthering the city’s notoriety in sports events. The team is also bringing attention to Orlando’s new sports and entertainment district, called Westcourt, which will be constructed next to the Kia Center in downtown Orlando.

Listen in as Harris and Siegel converse on Siegel’s path to GO Sports and how public relations helped Orlando show the world why it has become one of the top cities for major sporting events.
